Hi friends, I need some help. I have been helping to do a tranny swap coding for an MK4 VW Bora with 1.8T engine without luck. It is an Euro version of same american 1.8T Jetta. Car receive a auto to manual 5sped tranny swap. Mechanically speaking everything is working properlly, speedo, reverse lights, starter, etc... Only DTCs are ECU, ABS, Cluster, etc.... looking for TCU.
ECU HW SW codes are 06A906032SL 0261208529 371155 with Coding: 07550. I try to recode it to 07500 but ECU does not accept it, leaving the original code 07550.
Then I have two doubts: 1.- Do I need to do login before recode it? 2.- I know that there several ECUs that can not accept a tranny change recode, how do I know if this one can accept or be capable to be recoded? 3.- If it was not possible which would be the best software version can I install in it ECU for proper OEM functionality?
Thanks a lot for great help as usual.

I believe you need to flash a manual transmission file.

No mk4 software is recodable auto to manual or vice versa. Your file will accept coding variants 07450 and 07550.

Thanks DD here a view of it diagnosis: Address 01 ------------------------------------------------------- Controller: 06A 906 032 SL Component: 1.8L R4/5VT 0030 Coding: 07550 Shop #: WSC 00001 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Looking more info about car I found that is a american version with 1.8T AWP engine. Sorry about info that I post in first comment. Look at pic attached. Then which manual tranny SW version do you recommend it to use in ECU? if it could be compatible with OEM serial eeprom dump will be really useful too.

Friends I have been searching and I know that in flash dump exists different versions of same maps used for different conditions, like this case. Also I know the ECU coding is located in serial eeprom, but I will like to know how can I notice if a flash eeprom software in ECU is for a manual / automatic / tiptronic transmission and if can accept a tranny swap coding. Some help will be really useful.

I once tried to do what you are trying to do. ECU would not accept coding change using VCDS. Manually edited the e2p, then got codes for incorrect coding, even though coding was correct. Is there some reason you can't just flash a manual file to this car? If the auto file is tuned, just move the changes into the manual file.

I will like to recognize if a file is for a manual or auto tranny. There is no tuned file, it is just a MK4 VW Jetta 1.8T AWP engine with 5speed manual tranny swap. Which flash dump (of manual tranny car) could be compatible with serial eeprom that car already use?

Thanks for your advice but seems to me that it is for a 1.8T AWV 150HP car.

Other options could be 032SM or 032SJ.
