I've not really read much in the news to be honest but whats the basics behind the "VW Dieselgate" thing - how's it been manipulated into giving false readings?

You see, as far as I am concerned each Government undertakes various tests due to the legislative variances, so how is it not them culpable rather than Wolfsburg? Was wondering what exactly had been done? Some steady state manipulation or what if anyone knows?

simple answer , they inject adblue at idle where they do the test , but over 1500 rpm its switched off or just injected at the same rate , so emissions go through the roof and anyone sitting behind an oil burner gets gassed to flook Grin
