Hi all.

I have not bin abel to find the answer that i trust so hope someone can help here. I have tryed over obd. But my kess said 1.98v on batte i pick the right AGB code but i got unknown  ecu. I then tryed open it to look at st10 boot mode but pic with a 100kohm solder to chip legs. But my print b is a bit diffent from kess picture  of the print. I att a foto of the ecu.. so can this be done over obd. Something wrong with obd connector in car maybe?   I found a lot of good info on the forum but like to be sure before i take new steps

I dont understand the question completly but what i see is that you have an early preface S4 98 or 99 with 551C box 512kb. It surely can be flashed over OBD but you vill need to install direkt K- line between ECU - OBD.

i have EU kess 208 042 but then i connect though obd its shows 1.98v and not 11.98 or 13v ect. i also have  transdata but i find many diff. solution on connection and way to boot. some with 10k ohm resitor on leg´s of chip and transdata dont use that. but a singel boot sport on print.

Get VCDS.

551C is an ME7 ecu.

You can use the Neftmoto flashing software to flash it (need Galletto for bootmode + bench). Please read ALL of the stickies and all of the links in my sig.

The K line is ALREADY connected to your obd; but some old S4's have issues with the cluster interfering, you may have to pull the cluster fuse or disconnect the cluster to flash over obd.

soldering 10kohm to chip leg on this ecu

No soldering required for OBD flash.

For bootmode, you do need a momentary though.

AGAIN, PLEASE READ ALL THE STICKIES AND ALL THE LINKS IN MY SIG THOROUGHLY.

We've spent hundreds of hours on those damn things so we don't have to answer the same noob questions over and over and over and over again.

Sure, i was thinking one step ahead. If he`s gonna do some logging - it`s good to have cluster working.

I always flashing C box via Galetto in boot mode. Most of this boxes are not flashable via the OBD plug. I tried it also without the the dash fuse... Galetto works every time.

Ugh. If that's the case, he's best off moving off the C-box to something more civilized.

oki real strange--

i try again with the kess and still same error so i tryed my fgtech v54 over obd and i pick first the protokol with the chip i know is in side 29400BB type. it read id on car but said it was 400BT -- change driver. error ID400 Flasch OK. so then i tryed me7. audi s4 but that was for 800BB again it id chip.but said change driver. so i tryed to find any model with 400BT but then it can´t read id on car. volt is showing 12.6 v in fgtech and not 1.98v as the kess do. now i also have a foto of the ecu here can any one tell if is good, for useing the me7m/7.5.ect bech pin out for bmd i have found here on forum or use the metode with soldering 10K resitor to chip legs and use bootmode with my ktag or fgtech ?
