Yeah I knew it worked, just wanted to point out that funny sentence on their site haha. I'm the one who almost always has to put on a charger to read files and that's the cable I use. I seem to be the only one so I thought it was cable related. Most of the cars I read are me7.5's in the Golf and Jetta.

At least NefMoto premium features only require cables that are $15 from eBay. Grin

Yea. I ordered it yesterday. I look forward to buying a premium license. Thanks Tony.

I appreciate everyone that is buying the premium licenses. I try my best to make the software fully functional for free, and run the website without advertising, etc.

Currently shopping for anything 13" and at least 1600x900

you need to add a 'donate' button somewhere on the site.  i know people want to kick in a few $$.  i know i get a lot of value from all of your work!

The main reason I don't have a donate button is due to what happened to George Hotz over the PS3 hacking lawsuit. He was in a worse legal situation because he accepted payment via donations for circumventing PS3 security. I don't accept donations or offer advertising because I want it to be very clear that I don't profit from anything on this site that may potentially break some law.

I would pay in a shot, but I don't like it locked to the cable.  The cables are cheap, and I use lots, they get a hammering.

I was worried about binding to a cable, but then I remembered I could buy cheap USB cables from monoprice and replace the cable if something ever happened to it.

If your licensed cable ever stops working, then send it to me, and if I can verify it is the cable the license is for, then I can issue you a replacement license.

So my netbook is pissing me off and not showing my cable as supporting premium features - it flashes and reads fine with no issues, but shows the cable as unsupported.

Ironically the cable works fine on my big ass macbook pro, but it's not the ideal PC to tune with...

I've removed/reinstalled the drivers, and done everything I can think of with no luck.  Only difference is that the netbook is x86 not x64.  It also had a really old version of nefmoto on it which I removed first.

Any ideas?

Re-installed windows, still no dice.  Wondering if there is some hardware limitation with the netbook?  It's an HP Mini 1030NR.  The FTDI ChipID example application can't read it either.

Can you save out the FTDI cable info from within the NefMoto software under the Licensing menu. Then post it to this thread so we can see what info it is reporting.
