yesterday I was trying to read an me7.5 ecu in bootmode to get the mafless BT file it was containing for learning purposes (wanted to see how they compensate for the loss of maf reader). I'm just wondering if the tuner could have messed with this because I couldn't even get the info out of it, kept having error read0 and errorread 2000 in galleto. I was able to bootmode read 3 different ecu's before and after this one

There is no way to disable boot mode reading and writing. It is possible that a smart encryption socket could corrupt the data read or written to flash memory, but it can't prevent connecting in boot mode.

You don't compensate for taking the MAF out.

You must have all your calibrations (fueling) correct and then change a codeword and viola!
Its exactly the same as a car running stock without a MAF. It will just rely on the O2 sensor.

sometime you have to scrap the boot pad to reveal the metal contact from a coating. then 100% always works.
