Hello there!

I've joined this forum after getting a RIDICULOUS estimate from a well-known aftermarket company to have my Stage 3 tune flashed back to stock. I said fuck it and decided to try my luck with flashing myself and maybe trying a little tuning.

I've got a 2001 B5 S4 Avant that's soon getting TIAL 605's, and a 2001 C5 A6 that went Stage 3 back to stock. I've read all the beginners guides and bought myself a cheap KKL lead as well as a Galletto cable for boot mode recovering. I've built a quick and dirty bench harness with the help of parts from a local junkyard, and have purchased a couple spare 2.7t ECU's to play around with. So far, I've managed to read the EEPROM from an ECU using ArgDub's ME7_95040 program and decipher it's login code. My goal with that is to transfer the Immobilizer information from my old "Stg. 3 Tuned" ECU to another "Stock" ECU. I'd like to eventually transfer the tune onto my S4's factory ECU, as well as code it for manual transmission.

Anyway, I couldn't have done it without the knowledge contained in this forum. I'm excited to get deeper into this rabbit hole and really start learning more about these ECU's.

Thanks!
