So according to this pic:

02 would mean immo is off.

Except when the ecu gets plugged in and auto-scan (vagcom) + dtc cleared results in "Engine Start Blocked By Immobilizer"

Any suggestions welcome. Using AVDI(real not vvdi/fvdi). and it also swaps the ecu to 02 from 01 but car fails to start :/

I'd like to keep orig bin and not use (generic) from allroad topic post.

You forgot to correct checksum bits I think.

For avdi it appears that the ecu has 01 and both change to 02.

Here's full pic of each

[immo working]

[immo off-not working]

edit: vehicle would start then shut-off before immo off. Now just cranks but doesn't start.

Your AVDI is writing to RAM. That is not being committed to the eeprom however. I'd be willing to bet that if you re-read it, no changes are made.

I'm sure you did. Re-read the ram.

Problem solved.

ddillenger: you were correct in the device writes to ram. Only thing i missed was keeping power on while turning off key-on pwr. The eeprom writes from ram once vehicle is sleeping (a.k.a keys are off).

Smiley

I assumed as much. You were writing to ram, but the changes weren't being committed to the eeprom. I could have been clearer with my replies. I apologize for that, but good work!

i have had this problem with vag commander. it will edit the data but as its only committed to ram it is not stored. you need to do read and write in bootmode. i have also noticed that reading the eerpom in vag commander has yielded some interesting result, mostly not all of the data is read.

What "vag commander" are you using? Reason not all data is read is because they thought it was a fantastic idea to bend ppl over to get as much cash as possible (special functions.. You need 3 to use one properly)

Using real tool (latest). Clones only go so far and the ones i've seen (5.x) do not work well if at all.
