I apologize for being ignorant here but what year of cars does nefmoto no longer support.  I have a 2015 Audi S4 that I would like to tune out the SAI.  Right now I have an appointment to have this done and I have to buy their tune for them to do this.  I was kind of wanting to code this out myself which shouldnt take too long since I don't really know If I want to modify the ECU too much.

Thanks

I already told you on your other thread. Nefmoto only works MOST K line MPI Bosch Me7 ECUs from between 00-05. Nefmoto has never worked and never will work for anything else. Development has been dead for over 10 years. Your car has a Simos 8 ecu, no free tools do this ecu, you are going to have to invest in tooling to be able to read and write your ecu. Im not really sure what you are expecting but no handouts on this forum, people are willing to help including myself but you need to do the leg work yourself. If you haven't figured it out yet this forum is 99% ME7 with some other stuff sprinkled in, including your ecu. Forum members have spent countless hours doing reverse engineering, testing while documenting their findings. Then you come here expecting someone to roll it up and hand it over on a silver platter without even doing any leg work on your own. I'm sorry but that's not how it works here. If you want to tune your own car in any capacity get ready to spend a few weeks at the very least reading anything and everything that has to do with Simos 8, plan on investing $100-$200 in tooling (at the very least) to read and write the ecu. If you do manage to get the tooling needed and read the file off the car Ill do you a solid and delete the nonsense for you for free but the rest is on you...

Ok thanks I didn't expect a handout because I was going to do this myself anyway.  Was really looking for direction on how to start really.  I am on other forums as well on Audi but thought I could use Nefmoto to read the file anyhow.  Thanks for the info.  I'll look into the other software.

I also have the VCDS software so I should be able to use that cable to read the ECU.  I have used that for other stuff like the seatbelt chime

Yes, with a bit of luck, you can even order a Big Mac on VCDs and even transform the SAI into a compressor.good luck

what do you mean I disregarded lol.  I was just mentioning that I have a VCDS.  I understand that it can't modify the ECU.  From what I read people who used Nefmoto could have used the VCDS cable.  I looked online and will probably get KessV2

If you cant read below and tell me that what you followed up with is not a complete disregard for what i wrote then you are fucking retarded.

wasn't meant that way not sure why you were confused.  I mentioned that I saw on other forums that people used nefmoto but it didn't say what year of car.  They also used the vcds cable to read the ECU with nefmoto from what I understand.  I have VCDS which is used for diagnostics and I was able to disable the seatbelt chime.  What's up with the hostility here lol.  You sounded like you wanted to be helpful at first.  I was able to figure out the ECU type and found out about KessV2.

I think that saying "it shouldn't take long" to tune out your SAIR and comparing ecu calibration to shutting off your seatbelt chime with VCDS is a real jab at the people in this group who have spent 1000's of hours and $1000's getting here...especially when you've done zero real research.

You won't be reading/writing Simos 8 with any clone/cheap/free tools. You will have no idea how to find any maps, let alone disable SAIR. If you even get far enough to read this ecu, you will likely brick it without the skills to recover it.

Just pay someone with experience to do what you want. It's not worth the risk.

Like people have said above, you will have to get some tools and do some reading, including the topic about Simos 8.4/5 here on the forum to be able to do anything at all.

But at the very minimum you will need a Tactrix or similar product which works with PCMFlash and you will have to buy the appropiate module(57) to be able to do anything with this ecu. This isnt a 2000's ME7 unfortunately that you can flash and do stuff with a 3$ cable.

Thanks for the info.  I understand that people have put in alot of time here.  I thought I could save myself some time and money by coming on here and getting some direction.  I have done a lot of research online and I will probably pay someone to do it since of the risk of bricking the ECU.  Especially since the true version of KessV2 master is expensive.  I originally just wanted to code out the CELs but a tune shop in town will also give me the Stage1 Tune.
