Title: Reading MK1 TT cluster
Post by: BlackT on February 04, 2019, 01:59:59 AM
Hello,
I want to get PIN from TT cluster so i can instal it in car. The cluster is 2003, and car is 2001. I need PIN so I can login in with VCDS and pair it to immo of the car.
But I am not able to read PIN with vag-comander

Is there any advice from you? Is ther any other program that can read this cluster?

I have no experience with the TT, but if you click on the Instrument/Immobiliser button, read the EEPROM, it should display the mileage and PIN

Forget to mention, i use only K-line, but I think connecting to can-bus wouldn't make any difference.

Is it possible to use Vag tacho software with commander cable, or KKL,  or galleto 1260, or VCDS 11?

I was able to read an 04 mk1 tt Jeager MM cluster with Commanderand KKL cable. I had to use Shadow1 for it to pull and it pulled a full 10000 blocks, but listed immo and vin where it was supposed to in the dump.

Tryed that no luck, direct MM reset cluster and after that commander shuts down

Search for the pattern AUZ* @eeprom mapping location between 0x3800 and 0x3FFF. The two bytes before the search pattern is your pin. For example

@0x3B90 FF FF FF FF FF 02 18 F4 41 55 5A 35 5A 30 42 39 -> ÿÿÿÿÿ.AUZ5Z0B9

0x18F4 coverted to decimal should be 6388. Don´t forget the leading zero that means you have to enter 06388

That´s all! Sorry I´m to lazy to upload a picture.  ;)

I would try a few more times with commander. I was able to get one to read, but it did take a few attempts. Try with both Shadow1, and MM Direct. I ran into an error one time when I didn't run commander with administrator privileges.

I just did this, I got a MK1 TT with the MM, I used vag comander and tried all thre options for the MM. MM direct pulled the whole thing then tried what Nothery1952  posted and it worked.

No but it did beep and reset. I used Vag Commader 1.4 and had to run an emulation of windows xp on my windows 10 pc because windows 10 was not laking it.

I used Commander 2.5 and a generic KKL cable on a Windows 10 machine, worked well for me.
