Title: probably a dumb question.. make keys fit 2 ecus? Post by: Stompen on May 23, 2012, 12:58:51 PM I have a ecu 8e0906018, nd the original for my car is 8e0909518. From what I can see both are used for the 2002 a4 b6 1.8t fwd man.
When I put the 906018 in the car with software from the ori ecu, it wont start because of the immo. So I was wondering, is it possible to make the immo recognise the key for the for both ecus? If so, how do I go on to make my key valid for both ecus? Thank you :) Title: Re: probably a dumb question.. make keys fit 2 ecus? I read that sticky the other day at around 4am, but my brain didnt catch that that was the program I needed. Thats wha I get for reading in my sleep :p Title: Re: probably a dumb question.. make keys fit 2 ecus? Post by: prj on May 27, 2012, 06:40:09 AM The immo recognizes the key in both cases.
But the immo does not recognize the ECU. Easiest option - kill the immo in one of the ECU's. The ECU knows absolutely nothing about your keys. Title: Re: probably a dumb question.. make keys fit 2 ecus? Post by: Stompen on May 27, 2012, 02:37:50 PM So, if I read the eeprom from my original ecu and flash it to my spare ecu, the immo will still not let me start the car? I thougt that was the whole meaning of cloning the immo to a different ecu..??
To kill/defeat the immo I would have to desolder the immo chip, right? How is that easier then flashing it? Title: Re: probably a dumb question.. make keys fit 2 ecus? If of course by EEPROM you mean the serial memory.Quote To kill/defeat the immo I would have to desolder the immo chip, right? No. The "immo chip" you are referring to IS the EEPROM.Title: Re: probably a dumb question.. make keys fit 2 ecus? Post by: Stompen on May 27, 2012, 04:10:19 PM I knew that the immo and the eeprom is the same thing... just bad explaining from my part. :-\
How do I kill the Immo on the spare ECU? Any easy way to do it? Title: Re: probably a dumb question.. make keys fit 2 ecus? Post by: prj on May 28, 2012, 01:30:47 AM Yes, search the forum, it has been explained here.

Title: Re: probably a dumb question.. make keys fit 2 ecus? Post by: Stompen on May 28, 2012, 09:35:16 AM Hahaha.. nice one ;)
I have the eeprom tool from the first answere here, but I still cant read the eeprom.. I keep getting an error when it searches for the pin... any ideas? Title: Re: probably a dumb question.. make keys fit 2 ecus? Post by: Stompen on May 29, 2012, 03:46:25 PM Figured it out, and flashed the immo over to the spzre ecu. Works perfect ;D
A big tanks to Julex for showing me in the right direction, and thank you to prj.. I have a seat ibiza in spain where the immo keeps us from starting the car when its too hot outside (faulty ecu??), so next week when I go down there I will kill the immo on it. :) |
