Post by: Leomgrab on August 20, 2022, 06:57:04 PM

hello all first post here i have questions about a chip on the ecu board.
I attached a few pics, there seems to be a burnt chip near the front on the top.
can anyone help me identify the chip and maybe a reason why it happened.

i opened the ecu to make a cole to flash to a spare {same part number} ecu
i fear the spare might also be burnt i plugged it into the car  ::)

hopefully correct place THANKYOU

I've come across this a couple of times.
The reason was electric welding work on the exhaust pipes without disconnected battery.
Unfortunately, most likely not only the chip is damaged, but also the conductors in the inner layers of the 4-layer PCB board.
