Still not 100% sure on the location of the soic 8 chip on the board. The only 2 soic 8 chips I see have the following numbers on them top of the board B58085 ST9527 bottom B 55AN B58283 Title: Re: 8D0907557C immo defeat help please Post by: airtite on September 20, 2012, 12:39:10 AM my gq-4x programmer is also here and I havent used one before. With my soic 8 test clip I assume I connect the clip to the chip and the connect pin 1 to pin 1 on the block connector, pin 2 etc etc but on the gq-4x programmer what is pin 1?

Title: Re: 8D0907557C immo defeat help please Post by: airtite on September 21, 2012, 02:20:57 AM ok tried to read both chips, the bottom chip wouldnt do anything the vcc light comes on the progarmmer and then nothing. The top chip I managed to get a read from it but the 252k file is completely FFed out, tried to read it again and now I am just getting the same as the bottom chip ie VCC light comes on and then nothing.... any help please guys?
Title: Re: 8D0907557C immo defeat help please Post by: prj on September 21, 2012, 04:19:18 AM Why on earth would you have a 252k readout?
You are probably selecting the wrong chip type. These chips are all smaller than 8k. Let's hope the chips are not damaged/erased now. Title: Re: 8D0907557C immo defeat help please Post by: airtite on September 21, 2012, 05:16:15 AM I selected the 24c02 device, sorry its not 252k the size of the FFed read was 4.0K
Title: Re: 8D0907557C immo defeat help please Post by: airtite on September 21, 2012, 05:24:28 AM surely just trying to read the file wouldnt have damaged/erased the chip?
Title: Re: 8D0907557C immo defeat help please Post by: prj on September 21, 2012, 06:29:20 AM surely just trying to read the file wouldnt have damaged/erased the chip? And you are sure your chip is 24c02? If you have the chip wired incorrectly or select the wrong chip, you can easily reverse polarity on VCC and VSS and fry it. If I remember correctly, the 906/907 series had 95c40. And for that I'd use UPA.Title: Re: 8D0907557C immo defeat help please Post by: airtite on September 21, 2012, 11:57:04 PM If I remember correctly, the 906/907 series had 95c40. Err, it has 2 names, one of which is actually 25c40.Should note, for future reference: 24, 25 and 95 are all the same series with the same pinouts (unless reversed, and you don't need to worry about this). Looked in GQ, and it lists it as a "25c040". Title: Re: 8D0907557C immo defeat help please Post by: airtite on September 23, 2012, 01:17:47 AM again thank you for the help, my last question in the pictures above could you tell me whether its the chip on the top of the board or the bottom?

Did I stuff the contents of the chip up by trying other chip types in my gq?
