It's a standalone unit just like the rest on the market. The ONLY difference is the board size and connector, probably to be able to "hide" it in a standard Motronic alucasing and depending on which VAG car it might be pin compatible with standard harness. btw, a link for lazy guys http://www.fartstrup.dk Title: Re: Fartstrup ECU Post by: madswp on February 28, 2013, 11:56:08 AM Very popular plug'n play ecu here in denmark on VAG machines. it is totally plug´n play with original wiring harness and sensors used og ex 1.8t. main reason people decides to change from me7 is to get rid of the MAF. a friend of mine is making 440hp on his 1.8t with fmj/fartstrup ECU. runs perfectly - but if it is better than me7? guess its up to how proff the tuner is ;)
you can download the control software on thier website. its an old DOS based system. but works fine Title: Re: Fartstrup ECU Post by: k0mpresd on February 28, 2013, 11:59:29 AM thats the best name they could decide on? :P

These have very flexible control fuctions to control all of your inputs/outputs, and allow you to design your own functions to control them. This unit can precisely control injectors and ignition at low or high RPM and low or high manifold pressures. These have a very high level of protection from interferance built into the ECU to ensure smooth running even at the most extreme conditions. This unit can control variable cam timing for up to four camshafts, with cam position from full advance to full retard in less than one second. The built in closed loop idle support will make for OEM like idle stability. Boost can easily be controlled as well, even boost-by-gear. These ECUs also have features like antilag, flatshift, launch control, and traction control. All OEM features (including DBW throttles) are supported with this unit, making it truly "plug-and-play". The billet aluminum case uses the same mounting location as the factory ECU, so no extra brackets are needed. Features: Ignition control to 0.1 degree, fuel to 0.01 MS Sequential injection Four ignition outputs Eight coil dwell, software selectable Spare injector and ignition outputs can be used for output control Individual cylinder knock control with support for two sensors Internal 4 bar map sensor Support for air flow meters Stepper, 2 wire, and 3 wire idle valve support Internal baro sensor Internal controller for electronic throttle Support for reluctor and hall cam and crank sensors 5D fuel mapping Many correction tables Programmable filtering and arming thresholds Fan control Configurable and preset trigger options Digital trigger decoding Inputs/Outputs 8 auxiliary outputs 6 digital inputs 3 temperature inputs 6 analog inputs 2 knock inputs Kit includes: Plug-and-play ECU, USB cable, manual These ECUs are a direct replacement for all drive by wire ME7 1.8T ECUs found in 2000-2005 Golf/Jetta/TT/B5 A4. We have not confirmed compatibility with B6 A4 with electronic thermostat." Yesterday I met Kenneth from ktech.dk... he is trying to get this ECU on the market... very nice guy and the ECU is a very impressive piece. It easily is the best PnP replacement ECU for ME at this time, even better then the Vipec. With the Fartstrup you get to keep ESP/ASR, etc.. You can even use your OE immobilizer... It has Bluetooth, CAN/OBDII communications protocols. I held in my hands the unit/board pictured in the OP, the quality was outstanding. Can you pass emissions e-test with this unit? Title: Re: Fartstrup ECU Post by: NOTORIOUS VR on March 15, 2013, 06:02:16 AM Regarding OBDII. Can you pass emissions e-test with this unit? Not at this time I believe no. |
