Title: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: ddillenger on March 16, 2013, 09:00:07 AM I ask because when I did, I got 3 DTC's that weren't present with the b-box.
p1612 incorrect coding (even though ecu accepts the softcoding, and it matches the b-box) p1429 circut for brake vacuum pump p1913 pressure sensor for brake boost Does the b-box car not have the hardware, causing the above codes? I'm at a loss, just wondering if anyone has dealt with this before. Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: k0mpresd on March 16, 2013, 09:06:55 AM the 2 bottom codes have to do with the top code. fix coding and it should fix them all.

Post by: ddillenger on March 16, 2013, 09:15:13 AM the 2 bottom codes have to do with the top code. fix coding and it should fix them all. Maybe I don't understand, but the ecu is correctly softcoded for the installed options (06651, North American S4 with tiptronic, no ESP). What other coding could be wrong? Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: phila_dot on March 16, 2013, 10:44:28 AM Some cars have a pressure sensor for the brake booster, some calculate the value.
It's one codeword and one ESKONF bit pair. You copied the VARDEF coding from the B box to the M box? Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: ddillenger on March 16, 2013, 10:53:44 AM You copied the VARDEF coding from the B box to the M box? In the bins I looked at vardef was the same between them. Maybe I'm mistaken, but the L-box shows 06651, which should be correct for the B-box. Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: phila_dot on March 16, 2013, 11:08:30 AM s4Wiki says 06611 for B box
Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: ddillenger on March 16, 2013, 11:19:47 AM hmmm. All b-boxes were tiptronic (AFAIK). Seems odd that vardef would be 06611. I'll give that a shot and see what happens. Thanks phila.
Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: nyet on March 16, 2013, 11:20:47 AM s4Wiki says 06611 for B box I'm not sure you should trust that :) Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: phila_dot on March 16, 2013, 11:23:29 AM IIRC, CDDSBKV is the codeword you want for one of those codes.
Nye, I don't really trust anything on the internet, but what he's using now isn't working and it's another lead to follow. Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: ddillenger on March 16, 2013, 11:35:15 AM Thanks phila. Going to give the alternate vardef a shot, if that doesn't fix it I'll start 0'ing codewords. CDBKVD looks like a candidate for the other code.
Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: phila_dot on March 16, 2013, 11:39:07 AM I'm pretty sure the two BKV codes need changes to CDDSBKV and ESKONF.
I recently did the entire BKV path for the 5120 hack. Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: Rick on March 16, 2013, 03:52:53 PM I've got a B box sat here. We don't have them in Europe.
I'm going to flash it with a K box probably so will see how i get on. Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: ddillenger on March 16, 2013, 09:05:32 PM The vardef change eliminated the incorrect coding dtc (6611 worked, which is odd because the softcoding being used is 06651), still have the brake codes.

will update later. Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: ddillenger on March 17, 2013, 12:07:40 AM The only code left is p1429. All the rest have been solved. As this code is based on missing hardware, I assume eskonf is required. I suppose I could just hide the code, but I'll see what I can find. Thanks guys!

Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: ddillenger on March 17, 2013, 07:59:52 PM What fixed P1913? CDBKVP 0'd, and p1913 was no more. Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: phila_dot on March 17, 2013, 08:27:23 PM 0x10C7B
Set bits 4 & 5 Edit: It wouldn't be a bad idea to just set 0x10C7B to 0xF0 and 0x10C77 to 0xE0. Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: ddillenger on March 17, 2013, 08:35:57 PM Thanks phila. I'll do that and get back to you.

Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: ddillenger on March 17, 2013, 08:47:23 PM Is this something that should go in the s4wiki? Let me verify the changes work. When I do, if all is well, I'll update the wiki. How do you feel about sticky'ing the l-box bin with the bosch maf values? There is already a bosch m-box stickied, Tip guys need love too. lol Title: Re: Anyone flashed a B-box car with an L-box? Codes ensue... Post by: ddillenger on March 31, 2013, 11:58:14 PM Changes were successful. Completely code free running the L-box in earlier cars. I posted an otherwise stock L-box (converted to bosch MAF, with the changes outlined in this thread) in the tuned files section. Should help facilitate the swap for others.
Thanks guys, appreciate the help. Link to converted file: http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=3432.0title= |
