I ask because when I did, I got 3 DTC's that weren't present with the b-box.

p1612 incorrect coding (even though ecu accepts the softcoding, and it matches the b-box)
p1429 circut for brake vacuum pump
p1913 pressure sensor for brake boost

Does the b-box car not have the hardware, causing the above codes? I'm at a loss, just wondering if anyone has dealt with this before.

the 2 bottom codes have to do with the top code. fix coding and it should fix them all.

Maybe I don't understand, but the ecu is correctly softcoded for the installed options (06651, North American S4 with tiptronic, no ESP). What other coding could be wrong?

Some cars have a pressure sensor for the brake booster, some calculate the value.

It's one codeword and one ESKONF bit pair.

You copied the VARDEF coding from the B box to the M box?

In the bins I looked at vardef was the same between them. Maybe I'm mistaken, but the L-box shows 06651, which should be correct for the B-box.

hmmm. All b-boxes were tiptronic (AFAIK). Seems odd that vardef would be 06611. I'll give that a shot and see what happens. Thanks phila.

IIRC, CDDSBKV is the codeword you want for one of those codes.

Nye, I don't really trust anything on the internet, but what he's using now isn't working and it's another lead to follow.

Thanks phila. Going to give the alternate vardef a shot, if that doesn't fix it I'll start 0'ing codewords. CDBKVD looks like a candidate for the other code.

I'm pretty sure the two BKV codes need changes to CDDSBKV and ESKONF.

I recently did the entire BKV path for the 5120 hack.

I've got a B box sat here.  We don't have them in Europe.

The vardef change eliminated the incorrect coding dtc (6611 worked, which is odd because the softcoding being used is 06651), still have the brake codes.

The only code left is p1429. All the rest have been solved. As this code is based on missing hardware, I assume eskonf is required. I suppose I could just hide the code, but I'll see what I can find. Thanks guys!
