Title: Reading chipped ecu and transfering to new ecu? Post by: rik.vwt on February 15, 2011, 10:02:29 AM So I have a defictive ECU 06a 906 032cl that was chipped,(soldered).Recently I had some trouble with it, it would work for 30 minutes thent it would start acting funny. Is it possible to read the chipped maps with nefmoto and then copy them to the new stocky ECU?

If you can't get anywhere reading the file - I can desolder the eeprom and read it for you. Title: Re: Reading chipped ecu and transfering to new ecu? Cant remember, but its a GIAC tune made by AWE for a GTi back in 2001 (its old)Title: Re: Reading chipped ecu and transfering to new ecu? Post by: tobz on March 01, 2011, 12:11:03 PM Silly question maybe, but can you use Galletto while the ECU is in the car and still plugged in? Everything I've read about boot mode implies you need to open up the ECU, but all the Galletto cables use the OBD-II connector... so is everyone building an ECU harness to use the OBD-II connector with the ECU out of the car or is there another way to enter boot mode?
Title: Re: Reading chipped ecu and transfering to new ecu? Post by: Tony@NefMoto on March 01, 2011, 12:56:34 PM You can open up the ECU to do boot mode, but still leave the ECU connected to the car.
It gets a little tricky, but you can do it. |
