Title: Hello from New York City Post by: Mistashotta on August 26, 2013, 11:05:02 PM Hello everyone. Newbie here. I registered a few months ago looking for information on how to delete immobilizer for my audi. Now a little history on myself. Fix BMW for a living. VW and audi is my fun. I got a b5 a4 FWD from a friend for free with a blown motor. Was going to rebuild the motor but got a great deal on a 2.7l motor complete with ecu out of a 2001 audi a6. Decided hey how hard can it be to put in a B5 A4. Ok so a year later finally got around to putting the motor in. Man I thought going the wiring was hard, getting rid of the immobilizer is the worst. I tried a ecu from a 2000 s4 no good. Now i want to try and program it out. But there is so much info I don't know where to start. The hardest part for me is figuring out/understanding what a lot of the info means. So with that said I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone that post all the help info that I have been reading.
Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: nyet on August 26, 2013, 11:08:59 PM If your 2000 s4 ECU is north american, it should have worked assuming you had it coded right and a bosch MAF.
Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: Mistashotta on August 27, 2013, 06:16:45 AM I try to change the soft coding but it wouldn't take and don't have a Bosch maf. Can get one. However It keeps logging a fault for the epc light & malfunction light don't remember the fault codes at the moment. What happens is the engine starts and the idle jumps up then engine shuts off. I don't think the Ecu good has a permanent fault for engine coolant temp. But any ideas is greatly appreciated

I had the coolant temp dtc after tearing my beast down. The connector was just hanging out under the res, it was on when i put it on but pops off easy if the plug isn't seated 100% and you pull to the get the res. on top of its mounting tabs. <- simple things man, simple things... You must code it 06711, then the coding will be accepted and retained. Functionally there is no difference. HOWEVER, the softcoding will not allow you to run a different MAF, you must flash a different file. 8D0907551M is for a hitachi MAF. I'd say start there.

He's not using the ECU that came with the motor... Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: nyet on August 27, 2013, 09:07:51 AM don't remember the fault codes at the moment If you expect to make meaningful progress, you're going to have to take note of the actual codes. Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: Mistashotta on August 27, 2013, 09:45:23 AM Im working on immo off. Try to use hex editor to see if I can change to immo off. Going to try that later.
Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: Mistashotta on August 27, 2013, 09:52:41 AM I check the faults that the s4 ecu have. Check wires connector, power and ground good. No short or damage wires. Also I have 2 a6 ecu and neither on log those faults. I tried the soft code u stated but still didn't take. Don't if it's because it's looking for the automatic transmission.

The only 2000 S4 ecu's with immo are not North American. Where did you get the ecu? Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: Mistashotta on August 27, 2013, 11:41:53 AM Ur rite it does have immo. But the ecu I got with the motor is from 01 a6 which does have immo. That's the ecu im talking about.
Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: nyet on August 27, 2013, 03:14:47 PM You said you had a 2000 s4 ecu. That should work if it is a 1Mb version
flash mbox on to it, and call it a day. Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: Mistashotta on August 27, 2013, 09:21:12 PM Having problems connecting in bootmode with all 3 ecu. What I'm I doing wrong. Keep getting disconnected see attachment. Anyone ran into this.
Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: nyet on August 27, 2013, 09:23:20 PM are you doing bootmode on a bench harness?
if not, how are you doing it in car? and why are you using bootmode at all? you dont need it for the s4 ecu if it doesn't have immo. finally, please use print screen don't take a picture of your screen geez Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: Mistashotta on August 27, 2013, 09:49:33 PM Sorry for the pic. I'm using the iPad. Ok help me out here this is what I have. I do have a 2000 s4 ecu 8d0 907 551 b and 2 a6 ecu 4b0 907 551 t. Now the s4 ecu have a permanent fault for the ECT sensor. I clear it it comes rite back. Replace sensor. Wiring is good. So unless it coding then this ecu is defective. Also it starts an shut off like it has an immo. The a6 ecu have immo. I can't even read flash I get disconnect with message immo not authenticated. I have all the immo off files but it seems I don't have the proper memory layout.
Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: nyet on August 27, 2013, 09:59:22 PM immo-off files are eeprom files (512 bytes), not flashes (ECU flashes are 512k or 1Mbyte)
you do not want to write them with nefmoto. Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: Mistashotta on August 28, 2013, 05:52:08 AM What software is best for eeprom flashing
Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: ddillenger on August 28, 2013, 08:24:03 AM Read the "Understanding/retrofitting Immobilizer" sticky in the cluster section.
There are literally 5 or 6 tools all uploaded to this site that will turn it off. Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: Mistashotta on September 04, 2013, 08:04:17 PM I want to say a big THANKS to ddillenger for his "Understanding/retrofitting Immobilizer" write up and thread especially for the ME 7.1.1 section. I was able to delete my immobilizer from my 2001 a6 ecu with ease. For all you Newbies read that thread completely it will answer all ur questions. However I used a AUDI A4 IMMO3 IMMOBILISER READ WRITE tool I got from eBay which I found easy to use. I use the tool to write the immo off download from ME 7.1.1 section to EEPROM 95040. The tool also make it very easy to calculate immo pin if thats all u want to do. Here is the link to tool if and one want to check it out. http://www.ebay.com/itm/110948642581?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: Mistashotta on September 13, 2013, 09:58:13 AM Ddillenger I have a question. Well first thanks again for ur help with killing my immo. However i keep getting a fault for no communication for tcu. Is there a way i can program/flash the ecu to stop looking for the automatic transmission.
Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: ddillenger on September 13, 2013, 11:00:45 AM Flash an M-box file :)
Then with VCDS change the softcoding to 06711 Title: Re: Hello from New York City Post by: Mistashotta on September 25, 2013, 07:59:01 PM I tried flashing my ECU with an M-box file. However engine started and shut off. Check and got fault for immo. Now ecu is a me7.1 from a A6. But when I flash it with the file ME7.1.1 OFF.bin the car starts and run. What can I do to prevent the ECU from looking for the TCU.
