i use IDS with a VCM II on fords..... but that's dealer stuff if your looking to do code reading, PIDS, $100-500 will cover most all of it,i use the CReader Professional 129 if your looking for on-demand testing, your talking 1500 and up, OTC Genisys is what i have used before and covers a large line of cars those are just the tools i have tried, not sure which ones are better then others. The switch is for MSCAN bus diagnostics, cluster, radio, headlights, seats, etc..... the non priority modules of the car.
