Title: Bench set up and Immo defeat 06A 906 032 HN
Post by: onsperformance on November 05, 2013, 08:06:33 AM
Hi I have made a bench set-up
http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af140/argdub/BenchCable.gif
http://i1001.photobucket.com/albums/af140/argdub/bootpin142.jpg

I have also Grounded Pin 24 to put the ECU into Boot Mode
I am also using the KKL Cable

I opened up CMD and typed the following
C:\Usesrs\Steven\Downloads\me7_95040.exe

Followed by:
C:\Usesrs\Steven\Downloads\me7_95040 -r -p 3 95040.bin

Com 3 ok
boot mode ... failed
closing Com 3

No matter what I try I can not get the ECU to fire up in boot mode.
Any help would be good!
Thanks,
Steven

What procedure are you following to put ECU in boot mode?  It sghould be....

1. ecu power off
2. ground pin 24
3. power on ecu.
4. wait 2-3 seconds.
5. remove pin 24 ground
6. try to connect

What do you mean you are doing it over obd? Do you mean you are doing it in the car?

C:\Users\Steven\Downloads\me7_95040 --bootmode 95040 -rp3 95040.bin

This is what your command should look like.
You may have to play with the baud rate if its not connecting properly.

Edit...
I think you are using V1.3?
If you are get V1.4...

I run 1.3, find it to be the least buggy.

used V1.31 yesturday on a 8L0906018K 512k ME7 .
OBD read didn't work . it stop after a minute of reading with an error .
bootmode read take about 5s and write about 15s
I will test on a 8N0906018J 1M ME7
