My 1.8t engine that I'm working on for my MK1 Caddy project has been AGU Head swapped, and is DBW. I don't have information about the engine block, but I know its a 06A newer model. So only the head has been swapped I am guessing. However, yesterday I unscrewed the Intake Manifold to clean it and while mounting it back on I noticed that the manifold ports are smaller than the head ports.

Does this mean I have no advantage whatsoever, since the air going in is only losing pressure (due to larger ports/smaller intake) and not gaining mass. However, am I at a disadvantage? Also, do I need to find a large port intake manifold and swap the throttle body to make it work properly?

If I am at a disadvantage like this, then please notify. If neither then I will leave it like that.

Just port the Manifold to match the intake of the agu head.
You dont need a big port head below 500/600/700hp....
