Author Topic: VW 1.8t wont start after flashing incorrect file..  (Read 9328 times)

After flashing with an incorrect file and not having a backup of the original file, I feel like I am screwed.  The flash seemed to be successful but turned the key and got nothing.  I tried to do a scan with vcds but could not communicate with 01 Engine..  these are the auto scan results

One thing I did notice is that upon turning the key to postion 2, I would usually notice the cel light and epc light on, after the flash, these two do not come on anymore.  This happened once before after I dropped in a new motor where I had to jump relay's under the hood in order for those two lights to come on, this time around, it's not working for me..

yeah I figured that much. Just wish there was a way to get ecu into bootmode without having to do bench work.

You can bootmode in car. Just takes two people.

You can bootmode in car. Just takes two people.

A little late on this but you can do it by your self if you keep the key on the acc position and power up the ecu by attaching positive terminal on the battery.
