Can someone tell me just how noisy the b5 s4 engine is? I've been researching and checking out other peoples logs of their tunes and I'm seeing what I would consider to be a lot of knock. Generally when I tune, I tune for little to no knock voltage, but I am seeing what I would consider high counts on some of the files I have reviewed and people have commented that the knock counts are in check. So can someone give me an idea of what the general standard is for knock on these engines?

BTW, yes, I know that I will need to map my own engine engines knock count to establish my own baseline before tuning.

Thanks in advance.

I think most tune to keep retard/CF's  low, there is a ram cell/array called wkr_(x) in %KRRA that can be logged for this purpose.

No sense in worrying about voltage. You have no way of knowing when the knock window is or what frequencies to look for.

As dream3r said, just log retard. Most people log dwkrz though because that is the retard actually applied to the output ignition angle.

Doh!  I was logging wkr+i in my Volvo.

Will need to read through %KKRA again, zwbas = zwgru + dwkrz(i) + wkrdy is what you are referring too?  Teach me for skimming the FR!
