Hey Guys...
Is it possible to switch on Lights from needles and/or scales with turning on ignition by changing some bits in eeprom?!
Perhaps it´s possible that needles going up&down (initializing) when tunring on ignition?!

I know from various Golf 4 cluster that i have to change one bit in the eeprom to turn on lights, welcome message and so on...

I´ve a Cluster from Audi A3 2002, too... There i can switch on the lights over diagnostics Channel 19... But at actual cluster Channel 19 doesn´t exist.

It´s a 8L0920931F (VDO) from a 2000 Audi A3 1.8t.

In Audi it is only possible on clusters from MY2002 to set the needles to light up on ignition , and no possibility of needle sweep.

On your 2000 cluster you can only set to light the scales and needles together on ignition , with or without switches.

The adres you are looking for is $1DE- the default od 35 , you should try changing the second position like 3D , 31 etc

Hey macxxx,
thanks for your help... It´s okay for me if it´s possible to light up Scales and Needles together with ignition...

But i can´t found the default value (35) in 1ED location...

Please take a look at the picture i attached...

Can you please mark the location i´ve to change?!

Look at 1DE its 35 ( i made a typing mistake , swapped letters )

Yeah thanks... I saw the 35 in 1DE but i was not sure if i should change something there...

Have i to correct checksums before flashing the file back to cluster?! Or can i change the file and flash it without any corrections without cluster is damaged?

Checksum is in the speedomap so dont worry

here´s my report:

3D is the solution...

I tried a little wirh another digits but it won´t happen so much...

With "3D" at "1DE" Scales, Displays and Needles light up with ignition.
