hello, Anyone know of any checksum calculating tools that will work? i have read the bin file but the tools I've seen don't say anything about ME3.8

the ECU number is 4D0907551R its a 99 A6 2.8 30v. sorry the table i looked at online said ME3.8. something. any idea which it is?

Sounds like M3.8.2 with OTP chips.

"ME3.8" does not exist. E stands for electronic throttle, this is a cable throttle car, there are no variants of M3.8 that have a fully electronic throttle.
They just have the idler motor built into the throttle.

why do you need crc counting, you damaged the eeprom
I can count the crc in eeprom for you

ah bugger otp chips know of any other options? could i buy another eeprom or swap the ecu?

Immo off can be done in EEPROM, which is not OTP. So for that you don't need a new chip.

think ive got it, if i get the checksum wrong will it still drive with the eeprom error code?
