Anyone using either analogue 5v sensors or the Bosch CAN bus sensors in their own projects? E.g. data loggers, analyzers, etc?

A really good start is buying a cheap CAN bus capable STM32 evaluation board and running ChibiOS on it.

Then using the a2d sample conversion for 5v sensors and CAN to intercept various bus messages.

A cheap way of getting started is to buy this eval board for ten quid!

Use the free GCC C compiler (Arm cross compiler)  to compile the example code and get using sensors in your next project.

This is really a great way to start as via the OBD-II you can decode Check Engine light codes and display them in plain english, you can turn out lights, you can run self tests, etc. And for cars that see the track you can make an awesome telemetry capture device to compact flash.
