What is the difference between those two and can both be used in the same car?
Can I take a 551F box and flash in 551K file?
What would happen here?
I am trying to learn, thanx!!

You can, and you should, as 551k has misfire monitoring.
But not over OBD.

Ok, thanx D.
What is the procedure than?
A friend has an RS with oem K box, that was gone bad.
He bought a used one, but it was an F, hence the question Smiley

from what I had read over here you have to flash K-box file in boot mode, only then you could flash over OBD

You can use the F on a K box, but  I cannot recommend to do so. If you do so, you also have to correct the variant coding (in your bin) as this does not match from F on K (but vice versa). Otherwise you will get an error of wrong ECU coding.
Why don't you use the K Box?

Hi

It is a friend of mine. He had a problem with rear O2-s. We have emission laws over here that do not allow dtc on these. He swapped them for new - Did not help. He swapped the entire harness - Nada. So he bought a used 551F box, but he missed that his oem is 551K.

"correct the variant coding (in your bin)" that means?
Is it the same procedure K = F?
