Hey guys, can you please point me in the right direction here. I am experiencing ignition timing retard at light load and above 2900 rpm (highway cruising). What should I be checking/logging to determine where my issue is?

It looks like torque monitoring/intervention to me. I would log miist_w & misol_w, if miist_w is larger that could be the culprit.

I also noticed your actual load is over requested load which will cause some funny issues. I would guess MAF scaling is at fault. Have you recently changed your MAF (sensor, housing, or both) / have you been experiencing this since you upgraded your MAF? As a quick test you could try scaling the MAF back 10% and increasing krkte 10%. This will throw your trims off a bit but you could at least if bringing actual load & miist back in line fixes the issue.

Thanks for the reply, under WOT my actual vs. requested load is in check, but I guess not on the low end. Let me get actual load in check and I'll report back!

Also, about my setup, I'm running a single turbo kit with a blow thru HPX maf sensor in a 3" I/C tube.

Actual load over requested does NOT matter, but it can indicate that something is off elsewhere.

Looks like KFMIOP needs some work. Load definitely looks funky also.

Ok thanks Philadot, I tried to correct my KFMIOP based off the ME7 tuner wizard. So i'll log get some fresh logs tonight. Thanks guys.

Interesting, good to know! I was basing what I said on some previous experiences quite a while ago with bad (too high) MAF scaling, where during part throttle/WOT (around 100+ load) I would get throttle cut and funky timing when actual load went over requested load (while act boost was in line with requested). Fixing my MAF scaling fixed those issues for me.

can a worn vvt / chain cause to a huge retarding (up to -12) on a stock file/hw ?
