Hi,

I got the chance to buy an 1.8T AEB engine very cheap with ECU and harness.. But it seems like ME 5.9.2 is not flash/readable..

Is it possible to swap this ECU to another flashable ECU and keep the harness? Any suggestion?   (Is Me 3.83 an option ?)

Cheap mpps clone cable easy to write but in order to read the file you'll need to remove the chip

To write yes, but to read is not so easy.

I think most sw versions are already stored somewhere ready to program - no need to read.
I have attached 11 different M3.8.3 original files, maybe it will help you.

Also, afaik M5.9 is indeed flashable. M3.8.3 is for sure.

M5.92 is flashable. You can crossflash M3.83 files to it.

M3.8 is not covered very well as you may noticed.

Ok crossflash mean i can flash a 3.8.3 to that one?  I have MPPS  v13 and when i select Audi A4 Me 5.9 I can only Write
but then MPPS says "Wrong File lenght".. hmm..

MPPS procedure with VAG 1.8T M592 K-line works perfectly with M383 ECUs. It uses same proccesor procedure, in fact both ECUs families uses same hardware. Just select VW or Audi related ECU and you are done. Take in account all these dumps are 256Kb size. You need to check checksumm externally because MPPS does not do it. Last recommendation is to use a flash dump related serial eeprom (24C02) info to avoid any possible issues.  MPPS ID function works in this ECUs so you can clearly identify ECUs SW version if you need it. Also for big turbo project ME7 ECUs are really more efficient and tuneable, but with patience M383/M592 works really good.
