Hi everybody,

I am trying to screw out as much as i can from my engine.
Right now i got "high" boost but currently my ignition angle is jumping on high rpms from 16->12->14->18 even if ECU doesn't notice any knocking. Please reffer to logs (from second 16.650), we have:

3 gear, load 189, actual boost 1.337, no knocking.. and ingition is starting to retard up to 6700rpm

Any suggestions?
I am adding my KMIRL-KFMIOP map to atachments.

tmki - ok
tmot - ok
tans - ok (not exceeding 30C)
no knocking at 020

That IRL/IOP relationship looks a bit poor.

Why no 99% in IOP?

because 85% is corresponding perfectly with 209 in kfmirl
this type of irl/iop give me good stable load
iop is inversed to irl as suggested on many topics here on forum.

Very simple way of checking is to turn off torque monitoring and disable Armd and see if that sorts your problem or at least makes it better

You will always get a bit of timing swing as the the timing maps jump from load/rpm cells as they increase and aren't ever completely linear

I am gonna check maps:
  • KFDMDARO
    KFDMDAROS
    KFDMDADP
    SMK08MDSW
    DMARMX

and maybe disable ARMD by setting TMAR to FF

From the logs seems that my timming is more stable on second gear. On third we have significant drops to 12 degree from 17 and so on...

At 6k you drop load from 209 to 189 in your IRL

lol...copy paste mistake, i didn't catch it before. Thanks Notorious. I will upgrade binary and give you feedback.

ok guys i loaded binary with corrections on KFMIRL map.
Unfortunately still on third gear i have timming jumps 18->12->15->18 and no knocking.
I have found some KFDMDARO maps (attached).
I will figure out this TMAR.


Another interesting thing is that on 4 gear ECU is increasing boost (when knocking).

From logs seems that zwist && zwout jumps when:

rmxko_w=rlsol_w=rlmax_w >> rlroh_w

rlroh_w jumps from 192 - 173 - 184 - 173

I haven't found any other suspicious in those logs.

there is air mass drop from 225g/s to 218g/s because one moment earlier turbo overboosted to 2358mbar.
Which map is responsible for timming retard in that situation?

That depends. Do you want the ECU to tolerate the overboost or to prevent it happening in the first place?

i would love to prevent ignition retard. Boost regulation works good, please notice that it was third gear, car is really fast, turbo spools crazy, during changing gears some overboosts are expected (in normal driving not visible at all).
