Ok I'll try to make a long story short here. I did a wack of upgrades, big turbo, intake, fuel rail, FMIC blah blah blah anyways.  Wideband conversion and got an ecu from a 2001 A4 1.8T Quattro Auto with the ecu model number 4B0 906 018 CH.
Now all the tuners I talked to assured me this ecu would work for my car with a few coding issues that it would have to be sent in for, Immo delete and such. Engine starts great, sounds awesome but the transmission will not shift gears. I can go in reverse and drive, but it shift's to hard 4th IE Trans limp mode. I'm getting error code P1841 when I scan my auto trans module in VCDS. I also checked all the coding between my old ecu and the upgraded one and it is all the same except for the engine code being changed due to having a wideband ecu now.. I'm wondering if it's caused by the engine code digit Via Can on block 013 in the trans module. Stock ecu number is 22 and the tuned ecu is 34. Also the Can data version on stock ecu is 3 and on he tuned ecu it is 10. As it sits I have a $17,000 boat anchor with an engine that sounds awesome lol Any help  would be greatly appreciated!

Below are scans from VCDS with both the original and new ECU

FYI New2tune posted this scan for me as I can't post yet as a noob, instrument cluster faults are gone, they were there because I was playing with some adaptations with the radio is all. Still having same issue of p1841.  Trans works fine with original ecu, code pops up instantly and comes back instantly when car is running. I can perform all output tests on the trans with the engine off in VCDS regardless of ecu installed and they all pass.

I've been told by Greg @ United motorsports that this issue is due to my auto trans being a EFQ model and not the FAL that is much more common. Does anyone know how to change that coding in the ecu? Can it be done through Eeprom?

EEPROM - no, flash - yes.

You need to modify:
FMOTC, CWGC, CANVERS in the new software to match those of the original. It should work fine afterwards.
Check that MDNORM matches too.

Thanks a lot Nubcake! I'm getting new2tune to have a look into this for me now. I really appreciate the reply. We were starting on a narrowband tune for my car because I couldn't get the wideband ecu working with it. I'll love you long time if this works out for me! Thank you again! I'll post wether it works out shortly.
