Hi,

is the grey area on a med9 board some kind of thermal compound and should this be renewed when closing the case?

Great question, I've often wondered this myself. I believe it should be renewed, but you can soften it with heat, so possibly it renews it's contact once the ecu warms.

Thermal compound to cool driver stage. Ideally remove and replace, but it is enough to just add some on top of the old before sealing the ecu.

Yet to have an ECU chuck it after being opened. As said above, once it heats up the compound softens and probably re-seals.
