New toy is an RS6, can connect with Nefmoto but not read; I get a "possible tuner protection" error, which I highly doubt is the case.  For those of you who have been here, are there cross-flash possibilities (I have copies of 558B and 558F) that would let me use nefmoto, or should I just pick up an MPPS cable and be done with it?

Does the 368085 version have the load limiting "protection" I've seen sweegie mention?  (Not a big concern; I'm pressure ratio limited as it is given the 6,200' altitude I'm at, just a data point.)

I've heard that Nefmoto will flash this ECU, but not read it. I've used MPPS for all work on the RS6 and it's been highly reliable for reading and writing (but no checksum calc on the clone tools).

Your software will have the load based limiter, so if you switch out to the file K0mpresd pointed you to and make make config changes required for your cars hardware, you won't have to worry about patching the code.

Enjoy the car - 4 years on and I still love mine dearly!

Thanks to both of you! Absolutely in love with this car, I feel guilty as hell using it as a daily driver.

Have to replace a damper in the next couple of weeks (DRC still installed) and am in the middle of putting together an evacuation/recharge system, then it's on to tuning.  I may pick up an MPPS clone regardless, since Nyet's tool seems to work, on the 558D anyway.

Thanks again.

Well, Nefmoto completely choked on flashing the no-suffix 558.  Took an hour to get to 15% and error'ed out on comms failure.  After trying several more times, cycled key off expecting to have to bootmode, but MPPS v16 had no issues flashing.

Yeah, I'm not sure what's up.  Could be my laptop for all I know, driver conflict or something.
