I have been reading the forums for a very long time now and I am still unable to bootmode my C-BOX ecu. I have used the EEPROM Programmer and I have tried grounding Pin 24 hundreds of times alongside the use of galletto 1260 and to no avail.

To give you some context, I recieved an M-box file (1024kb) from Jfonz, which bricked it, due to the fact the C-box is only 512kb.

If you have any recommendations for any followup procedures please tell me Smiley

Regards,

Josh

Please share all the steps you are doing to get bootmode.

I never had any problem flashing c-box in bootmode with galletto 1260

1) Ground Pin 24, apply power VIA Bench setup to simulate ignition switch
2) After 3-5 seconds, disconnect ground to pin-24 then switch of Ignition
3) Supposedly this should be in bootmode, then able to be used VIA Galletto 1260.

I have had no success changing the length of time of which I have applied the ground to pin 24. I have also tried/used the EEPROM GUI interface supplied somewhere here in the forums and to no avail - even with the advice of fellow members using the GUI interface and command lines through CMD.

Please note I have tried both methods using a bench-flash setup (tried with 12V then 13.8V) and I have also tried it whilst it is in the car. No workies  Huh

NOTHING says to turn off ignition. why would you turn off power to the ecu youre trying to flash? that makes no sense.

Who put the file on there in the first place?

J-FONZ put on the file in the first place. I ordered a Stage 2 file and he gave me an M-BOX file. At the time I was very ignorant and didn't understand tuning. 3 Years later and I can make my own Stage 2.

I have tried even not turning the ignition switch off. I have tired everything to do with grounding that Pin and it just wont budge.

I have also left the ignition turned on whilst attempting this Bootmode. It won't work for some reason.

Put the file on what? He put a 1MB file on a 512 ecu? Did you send him the ecu? Where's he at now? 3 years ago? Man, I'm confused.

To give you even more context, I bought the car back in 2013 and it was advertised as a 2000 Audi S4 B5. I bought the car and it came with a Dimsport Mygenuis tool which I had no idea of what it was. After about a year of ownership, i looked through the paperwork and found out that the previous owner purchased a tune from J-Fonz (he is a tuner of Dimsport Mygenuis) but never received the file to put onto the car.

As time went by I established some information and presented it to J-Fonz (Josh Alfonso) regarding the fact i never recieved a tune. He sent me the tune a couple of days later when I told him i Had a 2000 S4 B5 from Australia (because that is what it was adversied as and it even said it on the transfer papers. Remember at this stage (2 years ago) I had no idea of the difference between pre and post facelift and year models - i just bought the car and it was fast.

ANYWAY he sent me the 1024kb file which I uploaded and it bricked the ECU. I bought an ECU from Mirza and got it Daz tuned (1 year ago). Now I know after many weeks and months of reading through the forums and the establishment of my tuning business im trying to recover the C-Box which i left in a box stored away. As i said I tried everything to boot mode it and it didn't work. Any more advice?

I'll attach my bench setup soon (pic).

Your cbox ecu is worthless dude, just chuck it.

That said, if all you want is practice and you want to learn how to do bootmode, you're going to need a bench setup to do it reliably anyway.
