So I run everything in a XP virtual machine(VMWare) on Win7x64 right now. I have no issues doing anything, i flash from the virtual machine without issues for years now.
I have been thinking of moving over to the "dark side" by getting a mac. I enjoy the quality of the hardware they use, and i will be giving my current laptop to my mother.
So does anyone use OSx with a virtual machine with success? Hate to spend $1500 and hate life because i cant do my tuning stuff on it.
And yes, i own a netbook for logging and stuff, but i prefer to only need to lug around 1 computer at a time!

I run VM also on my MacBook. XP is my virtual machine. I have not been able to get vagcom to work in the virtual machine. Been doing lots of reading here and about to attempt migrating to EV14 for my 2001 s4 St3 running OTS giac (AWE). Guess I will be doing it on my HP netbook since I know everything works there.

I run VMWare Fusion on my MacPro. It runs well. I have flashed on the bench and VagCom'd a bunch of times but have never logged. Also, sad day for Mac peoples  |

Glad to hear that the VM's appear to be working well. Looks like i may bite the bullet on payday and get me a new machine  |

I use virtualbox.org on OSX (10.6) on a Macbook Pro (Unibody). VCDS and NefMoto both run fine.

Have you ever used VMWare? If so, how do you think it compares to VirtualBox. I've used VirtualBox a little but not enough to tell which was better.

Never used VMWare I'm afraid. That said, I only stumbled upon Virtualbox a couple of years ago by accident; used it for a sandbox VM on an old windows system, and recently just to have anything Windows-ish with OSX. I haven't run into anything yet that wouldn't work reliably, modulo the typical performance issues.
You should be able to import a copy of your VMWare image into virtualbox, if you want to give it a test/comparison.

I use a MacBook Pro and just use bootcamp to dual boot. While parallels can work, I just find it easier to reboot when I need osx (for 8 hours of couch surfing for example  ) This was my first Mac and I am extremely happy with the hardware. I don't even miss the traditional keyboard. And the giant trackpad makes me happy. |

I have a 97 macpro and running virtualbox (free) and vagcom works fine.

Version 1.9.0.0 and later of the NefMoto software now supports Windows XP SP2 and later. Not sure if that makes the VM situation on Mac any easier though.

I'm running a newer 13" Macbook Pro w/ Parallels & Windows 7 - no issues with Unisettings or VCDS… will be trying Me7 Logger as soon as I have time.

I'm running VMware fusion on my 2011 MacBook air 11" i5 without hiccup at all. I am
running a 32bit version of windows XP SP3. Runs vag-com, ECUx, NefoMoto and TunerPro without one issue at all.
