So I've been doing some poking around because I've noticed that my car runs like crap in the cold weather.. AFR's go very lean as load rises...

So I've decided to start from scratch and see what I can do to make sure ME is really getting the info it needs (just like Snow Trooper was mentioning in his thread about tuning ME7).

During some searching on chiptuners.org I stumbled across this again (I say again because I've read that thread before and didn't think much about his comment until now.



Any input? 

I've been looking over and over @ the FR and keep thinking it could be done with MLOFS but doesn't make much sense to subtract a fixed value would it?

The more I think about it, KFKHFM seems like it would properly do the job... Given that you start with 1.00 and use the % to scale the MLHFM values through it. 

MLOFS clearly can't do it because you're reducing the value if you put an offset into OFS

The problem isn't one of sign.

The problems is that MLOFS is additive, not multiplicative.

Requested or actual? Closed or open loop? Is it reflected in trims?

Also:

Worrying whether your scaling is off by 1% or 15% is pointless if your intake is so non-stock that the MAF readings err by +/-30% across its operating range...

In practice, the *absolute* fixed scaling error isn't that important.. its the variation that kills you.

Your MAF can be miscaled by 30%, but as long as it is of 30% CONSISTENTLY you can get the car to drive just fine.

Also, don't bother trying to get anything from Dera. He'll just play mysterious games with you. His posts are cryptic and oftentimes deliberately misleading.

Haven't logged, since I just noticed it yesterday (really the first day temps were around 8-10 deg C) this year with my car.

Anyway, I'm assuming it's open loop as it's when I do a full throttle pull... AFR's drop then immediately start to go lean.
