I have a bdm100 clone that has worked flawlessly on two med9 a4 ecus, I recently picked up another two ecus and have been having issues with connecting the bdm powers up but I get a communication error.  I retested a know ecu that will connect with no issues and the read out was fine.

Do later med9 2.0tfsi ecus need a newer bdm to readout ? Was thinking of purchasing the following, but before I do I would appreciate some input. I'm not ready to spend the money an evc setup unless someone can get me a good deal since this is only a hobby for me.
