My 01 S4 that i have came with a GIAC stage 1 tune, or so i was told. I read the ECU and looked at a few of the tables to understand what GIAC actually changes. The confusion arose when i looked at the timing table and the y axis numbers were completely different from a "stock" bin i found on nefmoto? Not even comparable. See pictures below. From my very limited understanding the variable KFZWOP is load vrs timing? How can the load be maxed at 191 for my GIAC tune but be at 1325 on somebody elses "Stock" tune?

I think is stg1 file.

Your map factors offset and values are not good.

Giac tune is KFZW map.

Your map is not KFZW or have wrong def. file.

Sorry to clarify, you think i have an issue with the stg1 file(My GIAC tuned ECU)? You are questioning wether or not I have the correct definition file?
I am attempting to upload the files i am using.. not sure how to attach.

My 2001 S4 ECU 8D0907551 T

xdf file  8D0907551M-20130729

Maybe my comparison file is not a good one to compare to?

hmmm interesting. Ok, that being said, would you recommend i flash someone else's T-Box stock tune, or a AA-box stock tune onto my car and go from there?

Giac changes map locations around to hide what maps they change and the values changed in the maps. Without a good definition file from giac for that specific file you won't be able to locate the changes very easily.  The mbox xdf won't line up with all of the maps from your Tbox either.

If you want to tune it yourself use an mbox .bin with a matching xdf.  There is more info out for that file than others.

Got it! Ok so pretty much my ECU file that I currently have is useless to me unless i either get a definition file from giac(Impossible) or use it as a backup? You recommend that I uses someone elses stock tune and write it to my car? Like you said with a matching def file? The stock tune file from somebody else i flash to my ecu will have everything in the correct locations and wont confuse anything? Im assuming ill have to checksum it?

Yes your giac file can only be used as a backup.
What is your goal for your car? Are you wanting to just run a stock file or do you want to tune it yourself?
There are a bunch of stock 8d0907551m files on this site with really good xdf's to go with them just make sure the software levels are the same.  Always checksum the file before you flash it just incase its not correct and you end up bricking your ecu.

Id like to learn to tune it myself, and in the meantime ill be buying an extra motor to build. The next motor will be 2.8 heads 3.0 crank, bigger pistons ect. Ill probably shoot for 500 bhp. I havent learned too much about checksum yet but ill experiment with it tonight. I have used INCA for some reprograming, im sure its somewhat similar. Thanks for all the help!
