Hi,

I don't really know where to put this question so it ended up here. Please move if you consider it being more of a technical question.

I'm trying to establish a diagnostic session to a ECU of a RS4, 8E1910560 (MED9.1) But it fails to connect using VCDS. Same problem with both master and slave.

Can this be because of that it needs a CAN gateway for the communication?

What is your setup like? One ecu on the bench?

They work just fine on the bench, with just ONE little catch.

These replies suck.  Not going to work, forget it and one little catch.

Why even bother posting?   Angry

Exactly. If you aren't going to help, don't post.

If you want to call out prj on something, PM him or something Tongue

I'm not calling out on prj, but talking to B7 RS4 MED9 on the bench is possible, if you talk to each ECU as the SLAVE! The only thing you can't do is talk to both at the same time, unless you have a gateway of some sort, but I can't see why you would even want to do that!

Pretty sure it will work on the bench if you IMMO off.

My experience is that OBD writing on the bench is not possible without immo off - but I don't see how diagnostics can be affected?

Anybody checked wiring diagram yet? There is no gateway between anything from drivetrain.

Both master and slave and all other CAN drivetrain members are direct connected to OBD plug.

Both ecu: 67 low, 68 high
OBD plug: 14 low,  6 high

But there is another CAN connection between both ecu which is not connected to any other CAN. 89 to 89, 90 to 90.

Maybe this will solve the issue both answer as slave "11". If not think back 20 years how "coding" was done by pulldown/bridge specific pin from ecu to enable/disable functions. But there are too much connections and a lot not clearly enough in wiring to say it now for sure in a few minutes.
