Like the topic says- Is it possible if one of the connectors touches a nearby pin, specifically pin 21 or 62 it will cause this issue?

I don't think pin 1 & 2 have touched 3.  Thanks in advance.

Since I was using alligator clips I think it's possible 21 or 62 touched 43- Is it possible I could have fried the communication controller?

Looks like my blue vag cable has died - still curious about the answer.

Luckily the ECU was not damaged. The blue light was still lit on the old vag cable but the communication controller was shot.

You can't damage the K-line if you have 12V on it.

Thanks. I'm now almost certain I fried it because I only connected a ground to pin 4 and forgot pin 5 on the Vag cable.
