Hi guys,

I'm new here and would like to start using ME7Logger. I believe I need the original BIN as a starting point... my ECU has been flashed by Unitronic already so it has security I'm told.

Any help would be appreciated.

Buy your lovely cheap KKL cable, connect using lovely free NefMoto and your s/w version should be in the status window. Or, if it's an unmodified ECU then read out the original yourself!

Lucky for me I have a lovely blue cable Smiley The option to read the ECU isn't available when I connect but here's what I get…

KWP1281 connect info: °6A906032SM 1.8L R4/5VT     G03 0030
Connecting to address 0x01.
Slow init succeeded.
Switching to KWP2000 session.
Sending start communication request.
Connected

So version 030 then?

Yes.

No read option? Have you chosen a memory layout?

Ah, thanks for your patience guys. None of the memory layouts will stick, they all read something like this…

Validating flash memory starts at 0x00800000 and ends at 0x00900000.
Validation failed, ECU reports RequestUpload service is not supported. RequestUpload may have been disabled by aftermarket engine software.
100% complete.

Probably no surprise there. Any way around this?

Using a boot mode tool. Not possible with NefMoto yet.

Thanks! I'll let you know how it goes once I figure out how to load it into ME7Logger & get rolling   Grin

chiptuners - I finally made time to try your file out today… I've only done one test log but it worked perfectly. Thanks again!!
