Why would you do this? Secondly no it will not work, unless you were swapping actual ecu's not just the bin file.

Well, yes you can use a passat ecu, you could also use jetta gli, or a beetle for that matter.
There are really wideband and non wideband 1.8t ecus. There are alot of differences but few that will keep the
file from working correctly.

Actually you can not use a Jetta ecu or any other a chassis variant. 2003+ b chassis cars got a processor upgrade and are not cross flashable with the 2004 518ak software

I am looking to swap out ecus.I need to sell the apr stage 1+ ecu i have with injectors and install a stock ecu.APR has disabled reading over obd to protect their tune and I want to get some things coded out.So Since my car is stock.I am looking to sell and install a stocker. There is a stock AK ecu file floating around here somewhere.I'm looking to edit the vin if needed and immo to match flash over to a b5.5 ecu and use that ecu hopefully.I only ask cause that the type of ecu i have laying around.and 3 me7.1 2.7 ecus.

You need to verify the  bootrom version. You can not cross flash different versions. There is a full definition for the  150hp 018CA on this forum, so get that one for your passat instead of the AK bin. But first check bootrom versions with me7check.

You need to confirm the bootrom version from the passat ecu first. If it is  06.xx you probably can flash the AK bin to it.
Your car is B6 too? Your new spare ecu basefile needs to have the same hardware to run decently stock. Like returnless fuel system..
