I noticed this last night. I just thought it was "under construction"..... This sucks.

I hope this can be reverted.

Edit: Duh, it's a Wiki of course it can. Done.

Hats off to open source editing Smiley

I reverted the main page. If anyone finds other pages that have been messed up either revert them or post about it.

The wiki needs tighter user control, there have been a few spam user accounts.

I corrected the original problem then it seems user "Sootlan" re-spammed it and Matt then undid that nonsense.

Looks to me like we need another layer of protection.

The simple answer would be that prospective Wiki contributors request permission to edit it from a moderator who will make a judgment on their bona fide. To allow anyone to just create an account and crack on potentially corrupting it is a bit naive. The information and knowledge on this website is highly specialised so there's simply no need to allow any Tom, Dick or Harry to edit it.

It's relying on the good will of users to keep checking in and then rolling back to a non-corrupt version when the problem could be eliminated altogether.

User Imoolwe jizzed the main page. - undone.

Looks like lots of spambots to me.

We need a cool off period from new user creation till edit rights are granted.

Might want to consider adding RBLs.

Most of these come from known misbehaving bad IP blocks.

In any case, reverting spam isn't that difficult.
