Hi,
Just got a problem.. I have the code "manifold pressure sensor signal too high" (This means short circuit right?) I replaced the sensor and checked all wires and still have the problem. The car runs like crap. When pushing down the pedal fast the engine almost dies and then comes back.. Feels like a Tip-In problem.
Changed to a spare ecu to see if it was anything with that. I noticed that the throttle body behaved very suspicious aswell when in calibration mode and ign ON.. Ordered a new sensor and a new TB.. Anyone who have had the same problem?

Signal too high means open circuit.

You never mentioned whether this solved the problem or not.
Sorry i mean did not solve the problem.. Im very concerned that my harness is crap.. But ill make a try with a new new sensor.. Signal too high means open circuit.
Ahh thought so i just wanted to be 100% sure.

You said you checked the harness? Checked cable resistance? Log voltage.

Yes i checked the harness but couldnt se anything.. I could disconnect the ECU and try measure from the connector. When im looking in VAG-COM i se 1400mbar @ idle and the value increases as it should when steping on the gas... hmmm So it looks like the sensor lives but why "Signal to High" if the sensor is giving me values in VAG-COM. The values is there but question is if they are plausible.. hmm gonna checka again..

What does it read ignition on, engine off? Should be atmospheric pressure.
Value will not increase unless the turbo is making boost.
Mine reads 180mbar at idle. 990mbar ignition on, engine off. Use ME7Logger to get voltage values.
Either sensor is dead or harness is poor. You can't visually check a harness for resistance.

Your sensor is not reading 180mbar at idle, it is reading around atmospheric pressure. If you read 180mbar, you are reading a calculated field (ps_w). Unless you installed it in the manifold Exactly this. If it's reading 1400 mbar at idle you may be living 8 kms below sea level as well .

from wikipedia: The lowest elevation in Sweden is in the bay of Lake Hammarsjön, near Kristianstad at −2.41 m (−7.91 ft) below sea level. The highest point is Kebnekaise at 2,111 m (6,926 ft) above sea level. So technically your map sensor should read between 1015mbar and 940mbar regardless of your location (in Sweden).

Yes it used to read around 1010mbar..

I changed to a new sensor.. it worked for like 1 day.. now this sensor is stuck on 350mbar lol ?? I bought it cheap from eBay though.. Could it be the boost that kills it? Im boosting 1.8 bar with a GT2860.. Hmm..
I also checked harnes and it gives me 5V and ground as i think it should... Well I pulled the sensor out and the car was better to drive but it was a bit rough.. Anyway... I have Sold my 1.8T now... After 6 damn years.. Its someone elses problem now..
