Hey guys,
Well after about a month of intensive learning from this site and the wiki, I've mapped my bin and (I think) I have a basic understanding to perform some mild adjustments in line with a stage 1 tune.
My post is to confirm I have correctly located the main maps I need, and that I'm not missing anything obvious (or obscure for that matter)!
A couple of things I noticed whilst mapping my bin from the golf DAMOS (attached) that I found on one of the threads here, and questions regarding how I dealt with that.
- 1. Where the DAMOS had one map for some maps, my car had 3. The way I dealt with that was to re-align the map and duplicate the map settings. This seemed to work fine - Winols would find the x and y axes at the identical offset. Is that the best way to do it, or am I missing something?
- 2. The (y) axis in my LAMFA maps is not linear. Looking in both the DAMOS and my file (see image), the y axis is not plotted in a straight line - Is that the correct location for it or is it located elsewhere?
- 3. I have translated alot of my maps to english, some from an English MED7 FDEF, and the rest with google translate. Do they all look accurate or are there some dodgy interpretations in there?
- 4. Finally (for the moment ) Do I have any reason for concern flashing my car ('09 TT 8J) using an Mpps clone cable? I've read about the issues with the b7 A4, but have not come across anything saying there will be an issue, but just thought I would double check
I'll finish up by saying I am brand spanking new to all this stuff - I have always had a keen interest in learning how to tune, and I didn't realise what I was in for in learning MED9 as my first foray into tuning
Any help and guidance is greatly appreciated, and I'm open to learning from everyone that knows this stuff back to front
I've also read the forum guidelines but please let me know if I'm breaking any rules.
I'm having issues attaching my files so I will do so over a couple of posts-
Jeremy
