Hi There!

I do have a 98 MKIV 4motion with AGN engine!
I do have got my hands on a ARZ engine from 01 GTI.

The plan was do IMMO off the ME7.5
As for now, i do think i know how to read/write my EEprom.
(Havent figured out how to modify it yet)

Read/Write the Flash ill find out when its time.
( struggling with checksum )

But here it comes!
The Car is AWD, but the Engine is from a FWD car!
Do i have to use another Flash, or is it the same?
Will my old cluster work as normal, with Tach, Speedo and that stuff?

Regards

You need the whole ME7 wiringloom to, because old AGN ecu is 80 pins, ARZ ecu is 121 pins.

Cluster is not the biggest problem, all will work, only needs to recode again or 920 cluster, and code ecu to AWD.

Thanks for that!

Does that mean that i can get the BIN from a Audi A3 TQM, and flash
my ecu with that, or is it easyer to just change the BIN i alreaddy have?

What about cluster, is it easyer to find a new one that is compatible direcrly!

My problem, is that there are no Tuners around to help me out.
I do have a good contact in Tuning, but he only does "Stand Alone Stuff"
And does not tune ODM stuff!

And i do have the complete Engine harness and stuff from the 01 GTI.
Sadly, the pre-owner had thrown away the Cluster

No problem.

I think its better to look what coding you see with vcds in 01-Engine..

You can change this coding, if it wont work with vcds, look what coding you need and post eeprom dump here.

You dont need to do something in flash.

You need engine loom + Loom from ecu with big connector to box under wipermotor.

And look in plastic case by battery, that ME7 have 14 pins connector there, depent on type and year, this is on engine loom.

Its possible that you have now a 10 pins there, if this is so, than you need to change that to.

Let the cluster original now, when ol pressure light + Rpm meter dont work, then connect 2 canbus wires from ecu to cluster or look for a 920 cluster if you have now a 919

And yes, the Cluster is 919!
And yes, the plug is a 10pin!
(Assuming im at the right connector)

I dont mind spending som extra
$$$ on a 920 cluster,
if that will make it easyer for me.

I want ewerything to work 100%

Hello ! I have recently bought a 1999 Vw Bora 1.8AGN 4motion in order to swap a 1.8T on it and also dsg transmission.
I had several 1.8t's a few years ago and also a Seat Leon Cupra 1P which was converted to Haldex but now I want to make an 1.8T with big turbo.

As far as I know my Bora/Jetta is me3.8 ecu , has 919 Instrument cluster and ABS Mk20. What should I change in order to convert it to ME7.5 and 920 instrument cluster ? As I want to also convert it to DSG I understand that my car has to have CAN communication but when I connect to can gateway with VCDS I have no communication. I understand that if was made in 1999 it doesn't have CAN communication.
Should I convert the whole harness with a wideband one? I would like to swap an AUM/AUQ .

Is it enough to swap the engine , engine wiring harness and immo off ME7.5 to convert it to wideband or I should also change the entire harness inside the car?
Thank you.
