Mk3 Golf Gti immobiliser issue
« on: August 16, 2017, 08:47:39 AM »
Got a mk3 golf gti 95/96 and was bought as a non runner. Vcds gives immo fault, I have replaced the damaged wiring around the immo box but car still has the same fault.
Has anyone come across this before? Or have any suggestions. Car cranks over fine everything else works also getting in 02 on the clocks too.
Cheers
James

Does it start and then die?

Car splutters then just keeps cranking. Not sure if you can de immobilise the ecu at all.

Start from beginning. First check is fuel pump work and does injectors work, then go to spark plug. Coolant temp sensor can give wrong fueling so check him too.
What is code that VCDS show you?

Clear them. Do they return?
Are you using the right key?

Am not sure how to turn immo off, and the key for door KS different to the one for the ignition.
Just basic keys and standard alarm, codes come back after being cleared as well. But not sure how to de immobilise the ecu photo attached of ecu.
