HOW-TO USE KWP2000+ tool with ME7 edition
1. Open hood and hook a batter charger to your car, preferable a 2amp trickle charge
2. pull fuses 15 and 25 (for instrument cluster and the fans)
3. plug in the kwp tool, and plug into computer. (be sure your laptop battery is charged up)
4. Key to the 2nd position in ignition(right before you start)
5. Select read ecu from the software, selecting Slow speed, and ME7.5/ME7.1.

it takes less than a half hour per flash or read, and thats it in a nutshell.

be sure to keep your battery voltage up, dipping to or below 12 can be dangerous for the ecu.

I have personally noticed that if voltage gets too high between I would say 13.5v and 14v that it will also trigger the flash to fail.

Anyone used this tool for bench-flashing Me 7.5? It works great in the car for me, I can connect and read on the bench, but I can't write...very confusing. Any ideas? I have tried it in boot mode and non-boot mode on the bench.  Huh

disable or validate immo. Connect/read can be done without doing this but to write it gets checked.  Angry

I've followed these instructions, and looked at some other forums for similar instructions. I still cannot get the software to recognize the ECU.

When I load up the software it finds the kick. I hit the data button (as it is the only one enabled) and it attempts to wake up the ecu. It defaults to fast mode so I switch it to slow. Sometimes it will say 'ECU not found', sometimes it says it found the ECU and retrieved the information, but the windows where it is supposed to show the ECU info are blank.

I'm running Windows XP in a VirtualBox virtual machine. VAG-COM works fine from this same vm.

Anyone experience something similar? Any help would be appreciated..
