1.8t: 180hp revisions for 150hp ECU's?
« on: January 09, 2012, 01:04:11 PM »
I'm curious if anyone has ever seen a case where there is a factory 180hp software revision that can be used on a 150hp ECU? Where both would share the same ECU#.

From some forum post:
Quote
Looks like Golf 1.8T is a "hardware 180 HP" motor. The NB 1.8T is a "hardware 150 HP" motor. (ie Making 180HP Golf=software change; making 180HP NB=changing above parts)
