Noob question related to 2.4 heads
« on: April 04, 2018, 12:56:17 AM »
Hi all, I am converting my s4 to single turbo and since I am from Europe, I'll be using 2.4 heads. I was wondering, how high can I rev the 2.4 heads if I swap everything from the 2.7 heads except the cams? My stock 2.7 heads were revved to 7500 on a regular basis with gt2560 turbos.

For VAG 5v engines.
At 7300-7400 rpm the valves start to float.
At 7500-7600 RPM the valves start to kiss the pistons.
Revving more than 7200 on stock head is just asking for trouble.
You need to change the springs and exhaust valves to solid ones.
