Thought Nefarious was working on it's own logging software similar to ECUx.

I am working on it, but until the ECU flashing software is stable, I won't have any time to devote to completing it.

Can I assume that since your flashing software requires Vista or newer, that your logging software will also?

Yes, all of my software will require Vista or newer. I can't support XP unless I take a bunch of time to rewrite some of my low level .NET hosting code. Maybe it is something I should do...

I had to upgrade to win7 to use your flashing software which was annoying but I'd rather see faster flashing, checksum tools, data logging, etc. XP is getting old.

I feel the same way, XP is old, and I would rather work on new features. Windows 7 is a year old now, and Windows Vista was released the end of 2006. No one has needed to use Windows XP since 2006. I never liked Vista, but Windows 7 really is worth upgrading for, and it's features scale to top of the line PCs and to netbooks. If you don't want to buy it, there are a lot of nice torrents that I know are safe and work.

What would one have to do to 'sniff' what ecux is sending/receiving ?

ECUx works through the FTDI DLL, so you would need to connect a logic analyzer to the communication K-line.
There is a whole thread on this forum about how ECUx works and what messages it sends already though.

Are there spare pins on the ECU that can be logged by your software? In particular, it would be nice to grab wideband data (or, say WI flow) along with everything else so it's synced...

The NefMoto data logger software logs RAM values, so anything that is RAM can be logged.
I was thinking of reusing the post cat oxygen sensors as additional inputs for data logging.
